The Process of Making a Creative Video for Your Business

So you’ve been thinking of getting some kind of video content made for your brand but you have no idea where to start and you are a little unsure of the process. That’s what we’re here for! Before booking a creative video for your business why not let us give you the full rundown of how the whole process works. Once you have a clear idea of the process, we reckon you’ll be jumping to your email to book it in.

Here’s a brief rundown of how it will go:

1. Time to chat

We want to hear all about you and your business. Who are you? What are you into? What are you inspired by? What's your story? And most importantly, what do you

want to achieve with a business/brand story video? Let’s make a time to meet, grab a coffee and skip the small talk. We want to learn all about YOU. Once we’re a coffee or two down, we can then create a brief for your video. This makes it clear for both of us what we need to create so our crew can start planning.

2. Storyboard

A storyboard is a visual representation of a film sequence and breaks down the action into individual frames. This helps us plan out exactly what we need to capture in the most efficient and creative way. An accurate and detailed storyboard will make shoot day run more efficiently, making sure we don’t forget important shots. This is something that we can put together from the brief and can then be approved by you. We welcome any changes or adjustments to be made, then we know we will be capturing exactly what you want.

3. Prep

Prep for the shoot is very important. WHat you prep and what you don't will change how shoot day runs. Do you need to organize models? How many? Do you need a florist? Do you need to organise a wardrobe? There are lots of things you may need to prepare and have organised for the shoot. We will make it clear what you need to prep and what we can provide - these are all things we will discuss early. Thorough prep will help shoot day feel like a breeze, never overlook prep!

4. Shoot day!

Shoot day looks different for everyone - it all depends on where and what we are shooting, the game plan for shoot day is unique to you and the goals we want to achieve for the video. Many factors can change how shoot day runs, but we like to remind our clients to just roll with it. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. We are with you every step of the way. We will provide you with coffee and snacks to keep you fuelled for the day.

5. Editing

Our crew will work hard to put together footage from the hoot and make all the cuts ad edits necessary to meet your vision for the video. This part of the process can take a wee while depending on the project - but we promise it is worth the wait. This stage is also where we begin to colour grade and include any required graphics, watermarks, and audio.

6. Sign off & Delivery

Before the final export, we will send you a copy of the draft to go over and check. At this stage, you can ask us to make any changes that you would like. We'll promptly make these changes, get it signed off by you, and then make the final delivery! Now you can share your video with the world and reap the benefits.

If you haven’t already picked up on it, we love storytelling here at acorn. We love to show emotion through a lens. Ready to tell your story? Enquire about a creative video for your business today so we can help you get started!
